News out of Chicago: Nocioni, Simmons, Ruffin, and Drew Gooden were pulled off the team bus on Wednesday and told they had been traded. The early reports are that Noioni, Simmons and Gooden are headed to the Kings for Brad Miller and John Salmons.
There is a side deal sending Ruffin to the Blazers, and they forward Ike Diogu to the Kings to sweeten the pot.
Fantasy Spin:
Spencer Hawes is all alone as the starting Center now with the Kings. He put up big numbers at the start of the season while Miller was out of the situation so expect an increase in production. I would temper expectations, because unless they let him shoot 3's again his all around game won't fill the box score the way it used to.
Jason Thompson (SAC) will probably be the starting forward, assuming the team is aiming at playing a young rotation. They were giving him solid minutes before, so it should be good going forward. I think he'll be more valuable in daily changing leagues because even if he puts up solid numbers it shouldn't be enough to knock a fantasy starter out of your rotation.
Nocioni/Gooden: I think Nocioni will probably be their starting SF going forward, but it's hard to say what we'll see out of that team. If they keep giving Gooden DNP's due to an "injury," Noc has some value. He's available in about 90% of leagues and has the chance for very solid play if they use him right.
If Gooden's in the rotation he'll limit the value of both Nocioni AND Jason Thompson. So it's a gamble for now.
