Another one (Brand) bites the dust
Written by DavidHuet on 2009-02-06.

Elton Brand's season is over already. They announced he will be having shoulder surgery and it'll force him to shut it down. This comes as a major blow to owners who've been holding on to him hoping he would return to form, as he's been a major letdown all season and was likely a top 5 pick, and at the bare minimum a top 10.

He was projected to dominate this year because he would have a full season after a strong finish last april, and had moved to the Eastern Conference which doesn't have nearly as imposing centers as the West. So PF/C elegibility made him a real threat...or so we thought. Maybe next year!

This gives a big boost to Iggy, and Speights. Thaddeous Young will get some more minutes but he needs to show more consistency before I can strongly recommend him (except for those of you in a deep keeper league).
